Swimming Pool
The Swimming pool is open 9am to 6pm between mid May to Mid September (depending on weather, will sometimes open earlier and close later in the season). Lone swimming and unsupervised children are not allowed. The pool is deep and for use entirely at your own risk, there is no life guard at the pool. Glass and alcohol are not allowed around the pool, there is a separate area for drinking. It is the bookers responsibility to make sure your party are aware of these rules.
Deposits
All reservations must be confirmed with the payment of a deposit, which is equivalent to the cost of the first night's stay and is required at the time of booking. Car ferry tickets, if purchased via us, are payable on arrival with us. Deposits are non refundable.
Privacy - Your personal information will be held securely by The Havelock and solely for the purposes of recording your stay, We confirm it will not be passed to any 3rd parties or used by us to market our products.
Cancellation
Notice of cancellation must be received in writing.
We do this because the law states: When accommodation has been booked and letters of acceptance exchanged, both the client and ?The Havelock? have entered a legally binding contract. In the event of cancellation both parties should endeavour to re-let the accommodation, should they not succeed the person making the reservation is legally liable to pay up to 75% of the total room rate for the period we are unable to re-let. Cancellation within 24 hours of the holiday, 100% will be charged. All deposits are non returnable. No allowances will be made for meals not taken, for late arrivals or early departures. Guests are advised to insure.
For a 1 night stay, full payment is taken on booking and is non-refundable.
For stay of 2 nights and above - the 1st nights stay is payable as a deposit and is non-refundable, thereafter a cancellation charge is applied as a percentage of total booking cost:
56 days or more deposit only
21 - 56 days 35%
7 - 20 days 50%
1-6 days 75%
No show or date of arrival 100%
We strongly recommend that you take out holiday insurance cover, in the event of cancellation through death, illness, redundancy etc, for you or members of your family.
Car Ferry Cancellation
No charge will be made for car ferry bookings cancelled at least 7 days prior to the date of departure.
Bookings cancelled on the day of departure 100% of the total booking cost will be charged. Bookings cancelled within 1-7 days of departure a cancellation fee of £20.00 will be applied.
Car Parking
Visitors using The Havelock's private car park, do so at their own risk. Parking cannot be reserved and is on a first come first served basis.
Lost Property
The proprietors cannot be held responsible for any property lost in The Havelock, unless handed over at reception and a receipt obtained.
A £5 charge plus post and packaging costs, payable in advance, will be made to return lost property. Any items not requested back within 2 weeks of departure will automatically be given to charity or destroyed.
Consumption of Food
Only food cooked and provided on the premises can be consumed within, unless prior agreement given by management. Hot food cannot be taken into the bedrooms.
Damage to Hotel Property
Guests causing damage to the building, fixtures or fittings will be charged for their replacement or repair. The person paying for the booking will be deemed liable if the guest themselves is unable to pay.
No Smoking Policy
All areas within the building are strictly designated as non-smoking. The Havelock does allow smoking on the front terrace, but please use ashtrays provided. Anyone who smokes in his or her room will be liable for a £50 cleaning charge. If an individual persists in smoking, they will be asked to settle their bill, including the cleaning charge and unfortunately be asked to vacate the premises immediately.
